This is the shocking moment heavily armed cops drew guns and arrested three alleged fugitives.

The men allegedly robbed several businesses with a machete in Werribee, in Melbourne’s inner suburbs, before leading police on a wild chase.

Officers initially abandoned the high-speed pursuit, which was live-streamed by those inside the getaway car, deeming it to be too dangerous.

The cops later spotted the alleged robbers at a service station and started a second chase, which ended with a Hyundai hatchback crashing into a pole.

Footage shows officers drawing guns and closing in on the alleged fugitives before arresting them.

Police allege two men entered a Foodworks supermarket just after 9am and demanded cash with a machete.

The group then allegedly entered another store where one man is accused of stealing cash and alcohol.

A 20-year-old, 18-year-old and 16-year-old allegedly fled the scene in a stolen grey Hyundai hatchback.

‘When the vehicle got onto the freeway at 160km/h, it became too unsafe,’ Senior Sergeant Keith Kissack said.

However, the alleged thieves then showed off on social media, allowing police to close in.

Once the pursuit was called off, police were still able to track the offenders, because they were live-streaming on social media.

It is alleged that the offenders threw a wheel brace and bottle of alcohol at cops during the pursuit.

All three men were arrested at the scene after the crash.

One offender was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital and the other two are currently in custody.

‘You could hear the police coming down the road and then all of a sudden there was this almighty bang,’ witness David Rogers told the Herald Sun.

NQR Werribee employee and alleged victim Paris Jones said the offenders trashed the store after stealing items.

‘Everyone’s okay but it was a bit of a scary ordeal, obviously,’ she recalled.

‘It was very quick, they (allegedly) came in, threatened, they got the money, got what they wanted but then they’ve gone into the alcohol section and stolen some more and thrown some stuff around just for fun.’
