Two Melbourne Storm players have been filmed with a ‘white substance’ just hours after they were bounced out of their Grand Final qualifier against the Penrith Panthers on Saturday.

The NRL has confirmed they are investigating the shock video posted to social media with the embarrassing discovery coming just moments before Monday’s star-studded Dally M awards held for the first time in Brisbane.

Footage taken on a mobile phone seen by Daily Mail Australia appears to show two star players in a hotel room with white powder on a table along with a rolled up note and a card.

Several other unknown males are also seen in the room.

Melbourne Storm management are yet to release a statement on the incident.

This year’s minor premiers were defeated by the Penrith Panthers 10-6 in Saturday’s preliminary final, shattering their hopes of making it back-to-back Grand Final wins.

The unsavoury off-field drama comes as rugby league’s biggest stars take to the red carpet with their partners for the code’s night of nights.

For the first time in history the lavish event to recognise the game’s best talent is being held in Brisbane after every team was forced to relocate to southeast Queensland due to the NSW’s coronavirus outbreak.
