Being flanked by some of Australia’s notable real estate has its perks.
A standalone tennis court which is a stone throw away from some of Melbourne’s finest properties was sold for a whopping $7.805 million at a recent auction.
The Toorak tennis court went back on the market for the second time this year after an earlier sale for the land in May for $6 million fell through, reports realestate.com.au.

The parcel of land, which contains no house, only the court and two pavilions, is located in a ‘highly desired pocket’ of Toorak, in the city’s inner east.
Marshall White auctioneer John Bongiorno told the website the reason why the tennis court was snapped up at such a price was because it was surrounded by ‘some of Australia’s best real estate.’
The tennis court situated at 16 Stradbroke Ave, went over the reserve price by $1.905 million.
Four bidders took part in the auction.
‘It’s become silly now. It’s a tennis court!’ when the figure exceeded $7 million,’ one bidder was quoted as saying, the website reports.
