Melbourne traffic chaos: ELEVEN cars collide in peak-hour

  • At least 12 people have been injured in a horror multi-car crash in Melbourne

  • School-aged girl and two men aged their 40s and 50s left with serious injuries

At least 12 people have been injured in a horror multi-car crash which has brought peak-hour traffic to a standstill in Melbourne.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene at the Sydney and Ring Road intersection on Monday afternoon where it is believed more than 10 cars were involved in the smash.

There are reports a truck collided with multiple cars leaving a school-aged girl and two men aged in their 40s and 50s with serious injuries.

Paramedics are treating a total of 13 people at the scene, but the seriousness of their injuries are not yet known.

All outbound lanes have reportedly been closed following the crash. Daily Mail Australia will have more on the collision when in comes to hand. 

Meanwhile, commuters in Sydney have been told to walk to nearby train stations because of overcrowiding at Town Hall and Wynyard. 

‘Please consider delaying travel if it is not necessary as major delays continue,’ Trains Info tweeted on Monday afternoon. 

‘Thank you for your patience. Staff are working very hard to get services running on time again.’
