Melbourne woman arrested over stabbing of boyfriend

A 26-year-old woman has been arrested over the fatal stabbing of a man in his 70s, who is believed to be her boyfriend.  

Police were called to a home in Meadow Heights, in north Melbourne, just after 5.30am, where they found the man’s body. 

They arrested a woman named Ruby Gold, and a man believed to be her father, aged 57, Nine News reported.

Neighbours said man arrested is believed to have moved in to the public housing unit just before Christmas.

A spokesman for Victoria Police told Daily Mail Australia the man was soon released, pending further inquiries. 

The homicide squad spent most of Wednesday investigating the scene of the crime, but no charges have been laid. 

The woman remains in custody and is believed to be cooperating with police.
