Michael Clarke’s commentary replacements revealed after Noosa park brawl

REVEALED: Indian broadcaster recruits THREE former Australian stars to replace Michael Clarke after former captain lost $150,000 commentary gig after shocking Noosa park brawl

Michael Clarke’s commentary replacements have been revealed with reports suggesting that the BCCI have called upon three former Australian cricketers to fill in for the axed star.

The Indian broadcaster decided not to call upon Clarke for Australia’s upcoming tour of the subcontinent, after he was embroiled in a shocking Noosa park brawl involving breakfast TV host Karl Stefanovic.

As a result, the former Australia captain has missed out on a lucrative $150,000 contract to call the series with the notoriously image-conscious BCCI concerned about the optics of having the 41-year-old as part of their coverage.

Michael Clarke’s commentary replacements for Australia’s tour of India have been revealed

And according to The Sydney Morning Herald, no fewer than three former Aussie stars will fill in for Clarke during the four-Test series, starting on February 9.

Mark Waugh is expected to accompany Matthew Hayden for the first two Tests in Nagpur and Delhi.

Mitchell Johnson will then take Waugh’s place for Tests three and four, with the fast bowler having missed out on the 2013 tour after a bust up with Clarke.

Three one-day internationals follow the Test series and Johnson is expected to be part of the coverage alongside recently retired 50-over captain Aaron Finch.

More established commentators such as Ricky Ponting, Michael Hussey and Brad Haddin were unable to fill in for Clarke as they are involved in coaching roles with IPL sides.

Despite the chastening blow of missing out on the BCCI gig, Clarke says he has already fielded an offer to commentate another competition.

‘I’ve just been asked to commentate on the PSL, the Pakistan Premier League, and you should see the internationals they’ve got,’ Clarke said his The Big Sports Breakfast radio program as he made quite the marketing pitch for the league.

‘So many overseas players are going and playing in that tournament.’

Clarke didn’t mention his India gig on his radio program – a huge hint that he is aware the the now infamous fight has cost him a very lucrative gig with the most powerful cricket body on the planet.

The fight footage showed his girlfriend, Jade Yarbrough, screaming at Clarke, slapping him in the face and accusing him of allegedly cheating on her with his former partner, high-profile fashion designer Pip Edwards.

‘You want to send her to India with you?’ Yarbrough yells in the video.

‘You’re the love of my life Pip, come with me to India.’

Clarke insisted he was innocent in the footage and swore on his daughter Kelsey’s life before lashing out at Stefanovic with a flurry of swear words.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Clarke’s prospective sponsorship deal with a skincare brand has already been terminated – and more could follow in the wake of the scandal.

The notorious playboy has since apologised for his role in the Noosa altercation, telling the Daily Telegraph he accepted full responsibility for the incident and was shattered by his actions.

‘I’m absolutely gutted I’ve put people I hold in the highest regard in this position,’ he said, not admitting to cheating, but apologising for his role in the fracas.

‘My actions in the lead-up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable. I own this fully and am the only one at fault.’
