Michael J. Fox gets outpouring of birthday love from celeb pals including Back To The Future co-star Christopher Lloyd as he turns 62

Michael J. Fox received an outpouring of birthday love from his celebrity friends on social media when he turned 62 this Friday.

Leading the testimonials was none other than Christopher Lloyd, his co-star in the Back To The Future movies that rocketed them both to international fame.

Christopher, 84, posted a picture certain to warm fans’ hearts, showing him and Michael cozying up to one another for the camera.

Tributes flooded in from such boldface names as Ryan Reynolds, who in 2009 joined the board of The Michael J. Fox Foundation to combat Parkinson’s disease.

Ryan gushed about Michael on Friday; ‘I love this man, his work, his sense of humour, generosity and devotion to his incredible family.’

The warm message was accompanied by a red carpet shot of Ryan flanked by Michael and the latter’s longtime wife Tracy Pollan.

Tracy herself marked the occasion with a sweepingly romantic picture of the pair of them nestled together at the back of a boat.

‘Happy birthday handsome! Could not love you more,’ wrote Tracy, who shares four children with her husband: ‘let’s celebrate.’

George Stephanopoulos’ wife Ali Wentworth called Michael ‘the greatest human’ and posted a charming snap of her hugging the birthday boy from behind.

The official Twitter page for the Back To The Future franchise also got in on the festivities with a throwback of Michael in character as Marty McFly.

Christopher memorably played Doc Brown, the kooky old man who turns his DeLorean into a time machine, and while Michael led the cast as a high school boy from the 1980s who travels back to the 1950s.

The time travel comedy became an instant classic upon its release in 1985 and spawned two sequels, along with such other content as a television cartoon.

Back To The Future: The Musical is currently preparing to arrive on Broadway this summer after a successful run in the West End.

Meanwhile Michael has lately been occupied with the publicity rounds for his new Apple TV documentary Still, which follows his battle with Parkinson’s.

Directed by Bill Guggenheim, whose work includes documentaries on Bill Gates and Malala Yousafzai, Still was released last month.

‘Michael calls Parkinson’s “the gift that keeps on taking,” and there’s something to that. Because there’s a clarity you get when you have this kind of horrible chronic diagnosis,’ Bill remarked in a recent Variety profile of his star.

‘There’s a kind of relentless degradation that comes with Parkinson’s. But what’s amazing about Michael is that all those falls and all those trips to the hospital could have turned him bitter. But, weirdly, it’s only made him more self-assured and openhearted,’ the filmmaker marveled.
