Michael J. Fox is supported by family as he receives Lifetime Achievement honor in NYC

Michael J. Fox looked in high spirits as he and his family attended the 2023 Spring Moving Image Awards in New York City on Tuesday.

The Back To The Future star, 61 — who recently revealed that his battle with Parkinson’s disease has gotten ‘harder’ — was supported by his wife Tracy Pollan, 62, and their 28-year-old twins: Aquinnah and Schuyler.

Fox was named this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for his impressive Hollywood career as well as his dedication to finding a cure for Parkinson’s.

He was diagnosed with the degenerative disorder — which affects the central nervous system and motor skills — in 1991 at the age of 29.

For the big night, Fox cut a stylish figure in a black patterned button-up worn with a black tuxedo jacket and skinny trousers.

The Family Ties alum had his arms wrapped around his longtime spouse and daughter Schuyler as they posed for photos.

Pollan — who married Fox in 1988 — stunned in a one-shoulder dress and wore her golden hair in glamorous curls.

Meanwhile, Aquinnah and Schuyler showed off their fashion sense in contrasting looks.

Missing from the event was Fox and Pollan’s youngest daughter Esmé, 21, and their only son Sam, 34.

Also in attendance was Talking Heads front man David Byrne.

The acclaimed musician, 71, rocked a beige linen jacket over a black polo shirt and white pants for the event.

He posed on the red carpet with filmmaker John Wilson, investment banker Ivan Lustig, Sony Pictures Classics co-president and co-founder Michael Barker and museum curator Eric Hynes.

The Spring Moving Image Awards honors ‘the most renowned and acclaimed actors and artists of our time.’

It’s held at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York City and was presented by Apple TV+ and HBO this year.

Documentary filmmaker John Wilson received the Innovative Series award.

According to the museum’s website, the pair were ‘celebrated by friends and collaborators, including David Byrne and Davis Guggenheim’ during ‘a special program in the grand Redstone Theater.’

After the ceremony, honorees and attendees enjoyed a ‘seated dinner in the Hearst Lobby and Kaufman Courtyard.’

The evening kicked off with red carpet photo ops and a cocktail reception.

Fox is best known for playing heartthrob Alex Keaton in the hit sitcom Family Ties before hitting the big screens as Marty McFly in three Back To The Future films.

He got back to his TV roots in 1996 on the sitcom Spin City.

Fox has received a number of accolades over the course of his over 40 year career, including five Emmys, four Golden Globes and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

He also added Grammy winner to his resume in 2010 after taking home the Best Spoken Word Album award for the audio version of his memoir Always Looking Up.

Always Looking Up is just one of the four books he’s released that have gone on to become New York Times bestsellers.

Nine years after receiving his Parkinson’s diagnosis, he launched the Michael J. Fox Foundation which seeks to find a cure for the terminal illness.

Since its inception, the foundation has raised over $1billion for its research agenda.

In November 2022, Fox was presented with an honorary Academy Award for his work surrounding the disease.

A documentary chronicling his 30-year battle, titled Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, was released in May on AppleTV+.

In April, Fox admitted that battling the terminal illness has been ‘getting harder’ for him.

‘[Parkinson’s] banging on the door … I’m not going to lie, it’s getting hard. It’s getting harder. It’s getting tougher,’ he said.

‘Every day it’s tougher … that’s the way it is,’ he added.

He also shared he didn’t believe he would live to see his 80th birthday. ‘You don’t die from Parkinson’s. You die with Parkinson’s. So I’ve been thinking about the mortality of it. I’m not gonna be 80. I’m not gonna be 80,’ he said.

Fox stepped away from acting back in 2020 due to his declining health.

Over the weekend, he attended a Back to the Future Q&A panel at Fan Expo in Philadelphia with his co-stars Christopher Lloyd, 84, and Tom Wilson, 64.

During the event, the actor suffered a tumble as he made his way to the stage.

Thankfully the impact of the fall was softened as the beloved star landed on the couch in front of him, instead of the hard floor.

Fox appeared to be uninjured following the brief fall, as he took his seat and continued on with the panel.
