Michael McIntrye jokes he will move to Dublin in his first stage show

Michael McIntyre joked about ‘moving to Dublin’ in his first show back since falling victim to a violent moped attack earlier this week.

The comedian, 42, seemed in defiant mood as he took the stage at the Irish capital’s 3Arena on Thursday night.

‘It’s great to be here, in fact I’m moving here, f*** London,’ the comedian joked.

‘It hasn’t been a great week. But I’m okay, we’re okay.’

McIntyre was set upon near his home in Hampstead, North London on Monday in front of his 10-year-old son.

Two robbers on a moped smashed the window of his £120,000 Range Rover with a hammer before making off with his watch.

‘I could have done with you lot this week, 9000 Dubliners,’ he continued, ‘Instead I was left to fend for myself. It didn’t go well.

‘People have been so nice, saying time is a great healer. Yeah but I don’t know what time it is, as I’ve lost my f****** watch.’

McIntyre wasted no time in referring to the incident during his gig, but admitted he had also had second thoughts about doing the show

‘I’m going to be honest with you, it was touch & go whether I came here. But I’m so glad I did.’

Fans had raised question marks over whether or not the Dublin edition of his Big World Tour would go ahead after the incident.

But the father-of-two said he was ‘feeling better’ when he spoke to MailOnline yesterday.

He commented: ‘The show must go on. I’m not sure if I’m going to arrive there on time, but I’m going to get a new watch later.’

He was seen sporting a new wristwatch as he jumped into his car today.

The comedian, who is estimated to be worth around £38million, is currently in the middle of his 104-date Big World Tour, which started in 2017 in Malta.

He is due to perform 22 more gigs before the tour finishes in November.

When asked about the Irish show he told MailOnline: ‘The show must go on’, and in typical style he cracked a gag about his own terrifying ordeal, adding: ‘I’m not sure if I’m going to arrive there on time, but I’m going to get a new watch later.’

Mr McIntyre also showed off his luxury car’s new window, which was hammered around 15 times by his attackers.

He said: ‘I’m feeling better. We’re carrying on, but I could do with not driving this car at the minute. Anyway, it’s all fixed’.
