Michael McIntyre confirms he will continue his Big World Tour

Michael McIntyre gave a cheeky grin today as he told MailOnline he’s ‘feeling better’ after being robbed at knifepoint by a moped gang and even cracked a joke about needing a new watch after his Rolex was stolen.

The comedian, 42, who is worth £38million, was pictured for the first time outside his £5.7million Hampstead mansion 36 hours after he was held up outside his son’s school in north London.

Mr McIntyre had been picking up his youngest boy Oscar, 10, when two robbers on a moped smashed the window of his £120,000 Range Rover with a hammer.

The gang then threatened him with a knife  in front of his terrified child and ripped the £15,000 Rolex from his wrist in an attack lasting no more than 30 seconds.

The comedian, 42, returns to the stage tomorrow night in Dublin for the latest gig in his 104-date Big World Tour – and joked that without a watch he could be late.

When asked about the Irish show he told MailOnline: ‘The show must go on’, and in typical style he cracked a gag about his own terrifying ordeal, adding: ‘I’m not sure if I’m going to arrive there on time, but I’m going to get a new watch later.’

McIntyre and young son Oscar, 10, were stopped in a London street by a gang of thugs who smashed his Range Rover with a hammer.

Armed robbers smashed his £120,000 Range Rover’s window around 15 times and the comedian was seen flinching as they waved a knife in front of his terrified son.

The father-of-two was picking up Oscar, who with his brother Lucas, 13, are the source of a lot of his material in his much-loved stand-up routines.

McIntyre, worth around £38million, is currently in the middle of his 104-date Big World Tour, which started in 2017 in Malta.

Living up to the saying ‘the show must go on’, the 42-year-old will resume his tour in Dublin at the 3 Arena tomorrow night.

Speaking after the incident, Mr McIntyre said: ‘I can’t really say what’s happening, we’re in the process of sorting this out. There’s been an incident and we’re dealing with it.

‘I need to find out the best thing to do here, I can’t say anything. This is not a wind up, it’s ongoing and I can’t share the details.’

Michael McIntyre’s Big World Tour UK dates

June 7-June 10: 3 Arena, Dublin

June 12-June 13: BHGE Arena, Aberdeen

June 14 – June 16: SSE Hydro, Glasgow

June 23: FlyDSA Arena, Sheffield

September 4 – September 5: Pavilions, Plymouth

October 5 – October 7: o2 Arena, London

November 9 – November 11: SSE Arena, London

Witnesses originally claimed the star fell out of the driver’s side of the Range Rover and appeared to try to fight off the robbers during the 30-second attack.

He then rushed round to the passenger side of the vehicle to comfort his shaken up son and give him a hug.

A friend said Michael, is ‘very shaken by the whole experience’ but was uninjured.

Since the start of the tour he has travelled tens of thousands of miles around the world to perform his routine, beginning with central Europe and then heading to Hong Kong, Singapore and South Africa at the turn of the year.

McIntyre also performed in New York and Toronto in February.

He began the UK leg in March, first moving around some of the smaller towns in England before heading to Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland this month.

Much of the UK leg is sold out, although there are still tickets available when he comes to London in October and November, performing at the o2 Arena and the SSE Wembley Arena.

It is unknown exactly how much money he has made from the tour but it is expected to net him millions of pounds, with tickets to the UK leg costing as much as £63 per person.

A high demand for tickets also led to extra dates being added at venues around the world.

Following the UK leg, he will continue performing next year, beginning in Norway in February and then heading to Australia and New Zealand.

The tour concludes in Auckland, New Zealand, in June 2019.

McIntyre was waiting outside a school in north London, when he was robbed at around 2pm on Monday.

Police are investigating whether the moped gang followed him from his £5.7million Hampstead mansion with the aim of grabbing his Rolex or if he was the victim of a random attack because he was driving a luxury car in a wealthy London suburb.
