A budding model who became hooked on heroin after an 80ft balcony plunge in Magaluf has died aged just 29.
Chantelle Serginson, from Middlesbrough, had a remarkable recovery after the fall in Magaluf in 2012.
She suffered two brain haemorrhages, a broken jaw and multiple fractures to her legs after falling from the Hotel Marina Barracuda where she had been staying with her mother Kimberley and sister Jessica.
But she made an incredible recovery following operations to have metal poles and pins inserted into her legs and hips, as well as metal plates in her jaw.
But she became hooked on heroin to numb the pain and began turning to crime to fund her habit.
In 2016, she was jailed for 24 months for burgling a family home and being part of a gang that swiped bikes worth more than £23,000 from students and hospitals.
After she was released from prison, Miss Serginson appeared to have turned her life around and trained to be a beautician.
Tributes have poured in for the 29-year-old – also known as ‘Channy Shaker’ – after her mother broke the devastating news on Facebook.
Cherie Louise wrote: ‘Well woke up this morning to find out that my beautiful cousin had been taken away from us. What a cruel world we live in love you our Chantelle Louise Serginson always and forever.’

Family friend Louise Ingoe described her as a ‘lovely girl’.
Ms Ingoe, 35, from Coulby Newham, said: ‘I’ve known the family since I was tiny.
‘They are a lovely family and she was a lovely girl, and tragically this has happened to her.
‘She was only young and had her whole life ahead of her.
‘I remember her as a child, she was lovely and so caring.
‘They didn’t know if she was going to survive the fall. She’s been through so much and done so well.’
