Desperate search continues for two-year-old boy who went missing overnight on his family’s isolated cattle station in Far North Queensland

  • The boy was last seen on a rural cattle station in Maramie, Far North Queensland
  • Temperatures dropped to a low of 19C overnight at the rural cattle station 

Emergency crews will continue their search for a two-year-old boy who has been missing overnight on a rural cattle station in Far North Queensland.

The toddler was last seen near the station’s homestead at Maramie, near Kowanyama on the western side of the Cape York Peninsula at about 5pm on Tuesday.

Family and station employees initially tried searching for the boy, but notified when he could not be found. 

Officers joined the search but failed to find the missing boy before dark.

Temperatures fell as low as 19C overnight, raising concerns for the boy’s welfare.

Additional officers, State Emergency Services crews and helicopters joined the renewed search on Wednesday morning.
