A 12-year-old girl missing for two days on the Sunshine Coast has been found by her relieved family after a massive search effort.
Mya Baker was last seen leaving a property along Cape Street, in Birtinya on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast at about 6.45pm on Wednesday and had not made contact with family since.
On Friday evening though, delighted relatives confirmed to police they had finally tracked her down.
Queensland Police said around 3.30pm on Friday afternoon that Maya has been found safe and well.
Queensland Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a 12-year-old girl reported missing in the Sunshine Coast last night.
Maya left her home on Wednesday evening without her wallet or shoes and the young girl does not own a mobile phone which made her unreachable.
She was described as Caucasian, approximately 165 centimetres tall, with brown, shoulder-length hair and blue eyes.
She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with red lines on the front, black shorts and no shoes. Police and family hold concerns for the girl’s welfare due to her young age.
Anyone with information about the girl’s whereabouts is urged to contact police.
