Missing seven-month-old baby is found safe three days after his mother asked another woman to watch him

  • Seven-month-old Nehemiah Hansford was last seen Monday morning, police say
  • His mother reportedly asked Nettina Thomas, 23, to watch her son around 11am
  • But Thomas never returned Nehemiah to his mother, according to DC police  
  • Nehemiah was reported missing on Wednesday and he was found safe Thursday  

A missing seven-month-old baby boy whose mother reportedly asked another woman to watch him, has been found safe in Washington, DC.

Nehemiah Hansford’s mother asked Nettina Thomas, 23, to watch her baby shortly before 11am on Monday.  

But DC police said Thomas never returned the child to the mother.

Nehemiah and Thomas were last seen in the 200 block of 37th Street in Southeast, DC, on Monday

Nehemiah and Thomas were last seen in the 200 block of 37th Street in Southeast, DC, on Monday. 

The child was reported missing two days later.   

He was found safely Thursday morning, according to DC officers. 

Investigators said Nehemiah had been located at the 6th District police station.

It’s unclear if Thomas was taken into custody and police have not said if the woman will face charges.

No further information has been released.
