Missouri news anchor accidentally emails 200 TV stations when he calls in sick for work

A reporter from Missouri has gone viral after he attempted to call in sick from work, but accidentally emailed nearly 200 TV stations across the country.

Nick Vasos, a news anchor in Kansas City, was feeling under the weather on Thursday after undergoing oral surgery and attempted to email his bosses to let them know.

Instead of emailing just his bosses at Fox4, Vasos sent his sick day memo to the entire company under Nextstar Media Group on both ends of the country’s coasts.

Eventually, the email thread was stopped and an administrator cautioned Nextstar employees from pressing ‘reply all’ to any emails containing the news.

‘I hate to be a party pooper and I have as much sympathy for Nick as anyone. But with the number of members of the breaking news list there could be thousands of emails sent by the time this is done.’

‘I am one of [Nick Vasos] managers. Grateful to report he and I have communicated and he is going to pull through. You guys are a scream!Funny enough, WE didn’t get that email at [Fox4].’

On Vasos’ part, he says the whole thing was a ‘honest mistake.’

Vasos explained to Fox4  that he tried to reach out via text before resorting to the email.

‘Prior to that I sent a text to our manager letting her know that I didn’t feel well last night and I didn’t hear back from her. So I went to the email, which was a mistake,’ he said.

Vasos said: ‘I’m feeling a lot better because I’m feeling all the love from Nexstar Nation this morning.’
