MLB: Insane brawl at Cubs-Cardinals game sees a man thrown down three rows of bleachers

Insane brawl at Cubs-Cardinals game sees a man thrown down three rows of Wrigley Field bleachers… before security steps in to restore order

  • A Chicago Cubs fan was sent tumbling down three sets of bleachers on Tuesday
  • The incident occurred during the second of the Cubs-Cardinals doubleheader
  • The man was seemingly uninjured and walked himself away from the fight
  • Chicago lost the game 13-3 following a 2-0 victory in the day’s first matchup

A Chicago Cubs fan was sent flying down a flight of bleachers Tuesday night following a scuffle in the Wrigley Field bleachers.

The unlucky customer was in involved in the pile-up before being simultaneously pushed and kicked by an individual, descending into free fall.

Sporting an Anthony Rizzo jersey, the man smashed his lower back into the bleacher below, before tumbling down two more benches.

Seemingly agitated but looking virtually unharmed, he was escorted away from the brawl by security. The fight itself seemed to boil down soon after.

Frustrations in the dugout were to be expected, though perhaps not to that end, as the Cubs were embarrassed at home by the St. Louis Cardinals 13-3.

Chicago ended St. Louis’ season-high eight-game winning streak earlier Tuesday in the first half of the Cardinals-Cubs doubleheader.

This man got more than he bargained for after becoming involved in a fight at Wrigley Field

After the 13-3 nightcap victory, St. Louis now leads the five-game series 2-1, taking them to 18 wins in their last 22 games.

The NL Central-leading Cardinals have hit .310 with 18 homers while averaging seven runs over the last 10 games.

Meanwhile, their pitching staff has a 2.17 ERA with an opponents’ batting average of .178 in the last 12 contests. They’ve yielded five runs and 13 hits in the first three games of this set.

‘The guys are just continuing to compete regardless of the situation,’ St. Louis manager Oliver Marmol said. ‘That’s what you want this time of year.’

Following the loss, Chicago are 1-3 after a prior five-game winning streak.

Notwithstanding the Cubs’ pitchers being roughed up in Tuesday’s nightcap, their starters have a 2.53 ERA over the last 10 games.

The two teams meet again Wednesday night. Let’s just hope those same fans don’t.
