Iconic confectionery brand M&M’s has joined forces with Hubba Bubba to delight nostalgic shoppers with the launch of bubblegum-flavoured chocolate.

The M&M’s Bubblegum has hit Coles supermarket stores across Australia – and it comes in a 160g bag for just $4.50.

Perfect for movie nights or snacking, the multi-coloured button-shaped chocolates are coated in bubblegum flavour, inspired by Hubba Bubba.

The chocolates, made in Australia, can be eaten as they are or sprinkled onto ice cream or cupcakes.

Two foodies – who blog under Food Finds Geelong on Instagram – scored the product an eight out of 10.

‘Love the creativity here, great choice of flavour, colours and fun packaging. Flavour wise they definitely do have hints of bubblegum without it being too artificial tasting… still tasty though,’ they wrote. 

Another customer shared his review, saying: ‘These are kind of weird but also, kind of delicious! The bubblegum flavour is there and it blends strangely well with the sweet crunchy shell and milk chocolate.’

However, not everyone was a fan of the new product.

Many were quite divided over the flavour combinations, with one saying: ‘I don’t know if it’ll taste good… it’s bubble gum with chocolate.’

While another added: ‘It’s a no from me.’ 

However, many shoppers said they were keen to give the chocolates a go, with one woman saying: ‘I need these in my life.’
