A Perth mobile phone kiosk has tried to alert the owner of a lost credit card by placing it on display.

Despite their good intentions, the kiosk’s decision has left passer-by’s scratching their heads.

One shopper was so horrified, she posted a picture of the card stuck to the window on Facebook.

‘So…never leave your card at a mobile fix it kiosk I guess. This is so phenomenally stupid on the shops part,’ she wrote.

Not only can the credit card number and owner’s name be clearly seen, but the three-digit CVV number is also perfectly legible.

‘Hope he’s cancelled the card,’ she said, referring to the owner, who has since been alerted to the error.

‘Even my young son said block out the number before you post it – left me thinking how dumb are these people?’
