Model Charlie Austin splits from Scott Robertson and starts dating Poata Okeroa

EXCLUSIVE: Society marriage bust-up as Australia’s Next Top Model star splits from restaurateur husband and shacks up with nightclub boss known for his infamous ‘no tattoos’ rule

Australian model Charlie Austin has confirmed her split from restaurant owner husband Scott Robertson by going public with another hospitality bigwig.

Austin, 30, has been sharing loved-up posts on Instagram with nightclub boss Poata Okeroa for the last few months, while saying nothing of her prior marriage split.

There is no suggestion of an overlap between the two relationships.

Okeroa is a business partner of entrepreneurs Julian Tobias and Eric Jury, owners of late-night hotspots Sussudio in Potts Point and Flamingo Lounge in Kings Cross.

He made headlines last year for banning diners with visible tattoos, ‘designer-labelled apparel’ and ‘heavy jewellery’ from his Middle Eastern restaurant and nightclub Bedoin in Double Bay.

The controversial dress code was introduced to ‘discourage intimidating appearances’, he said at the time.

The pair have been romantically linked since November last year, having spent a number of milestones together, including New Year’s Day, Charlie’s recent 30th birthday, as well as a romantic trip to the exclusive Osborn House hotel.

Despite splashing her new romance all over Instagram, little is known of Austin’s split from Robertson – the owner of Glass Island, a floating restaurant on Sydney Harbour.

The former reality star, who appeared on cycle seven of Australia’s Next Top Model in 2011, has quietly reverted to her maiden name on Instagram, having previously gone by Charlie Robertson.

The pair tied the knot in 2019 at the French-themed wedding venue Deux Belettes in the Byron Bay Hinterland.

She posted a gushing tribute to her husband on their one-year anniversary.

‘365 days as Mrs Robertson! Being married to you is a dream. You’re the kindest, sweetest man I’ve ever known with the most beautiful soul,’ she wrote.

‘I’m so thankful for you and the way you love me. Happy anniversary, baby. I’ll carry your heart forever.’

Prior to tying the knot, Austin was spotted in 2015 aboard Leonardo Di Caprio’s super yacht, which was moored in the Mediterranean during the Cannes Film Festival.

She had a small role in the actor’s hit movie The Great Gatsby, and it is believed she was one of the models he partied with when filming wrapped in Australia in 2012.

Austin has fronted campaigns for brands including Running Bare, Bras N Things, Moontide Swimwear and Homebodii.

A spokesperson for Austin declined to comment on her marriage split.
