Model Jennifer Hawkins shares her ultimate beauty secrets

She’s the international supermodel renowned for her radiant complexion and long golden tresses.

But it seems former Miss Universe Australia Jennifer Hawkins is relatively low-maintenance when it comes to having her hair and makeup done.

The 33-year-old recently spoke to FEMAIL about her favourite beauty hack during the summer months – and admits she prefers to apply cosmetics herself most of the time.

‘There’s a lot of hair and makeup environments that are so dramatic… I just hate the drama,’ Jennifer told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I love doing my own stuff. I prefer to do my own make up and I love it so much my girlfriends now want me to do theirs all the time!’

Jennifer, who was crowned Miss Universe in 2004, is considered a veteran in the modelling world and knows all-too-well the pressures of always looking perfect.

She says her make up routine is quite relaxed – and prefers work at her own pace.

During the hot season Jennifer swears by Bumble and Bumble sea-salt spray to perfect her beachy blonde locks.

‘I don’t normally do a lot of preparation because I have naturally straight hair, so I just curl it a little bit,’ she explains.

‘I use a spritz of Bumble and Bumble and it just stays for like four days.’

Jennifer, who is the face of Mount Franklin water, also added her best beauty hack in summer is to avoid washing her hair too often.

The international model admits to only dampening her healthy blonde tresses once every four days and says her hair is significantly less oily as a result.

Spending most of the time by the water at her beachfront home in Newport, Jennifer says she lives in the ocean during summertime.

And it seems her picture-perfect blonde waves are a result of a combination of real sea-salt and her favourite hairspray.

Jennifer appeared at the Mount Franklin lightly sparkling cans launch on the Balmoral esplanade on October 24, dressed in a mint-green blazer with matching shorts to top off her summertime look.

The Newcastle-born supermodel also recently confessed to eating a surprising amount of olive oil which she says is amazing for her skin.

‘I eat so much olive oil, I think it’s the key for good skin,’ the 33-year-old told Daily Mail Australia after the Myer Spring Collections Launch at South Coogee in August.

‘Exfoliating and moisturising are key,’ she added. ‘Then, I’ll get a facial once a month and extraction facials a few times a year.

‘Coconut oil would be my desert island beauty product – you can cook with it, put it on your hair and your skin.’
