Moesha’s Countess Vaughn claims her boyfriend tossed bleach in her face amid other abuses

Moesha actress Countess Vaughn says her boyfriend David Benjamin Richard Whitten has been a domestic abuser for more than 10 years – strangling, beating, sexually abusing and threatening to kill her – and once threw bleach in her face in a rage.

The actress-singer, 40, got a protective order from a judge in Los Angeles, TMZ reported on Thursday, after she raised a number of allegations against her longtime partner.

The Idabel, Oklahoma native said Whitten threw the bleach at her two months back in an effort to injure her career, which was a sticking point for him throughout their relationship.

Vaughn, who played the role of Kimberly Ann Parker on both Moesha and The Parkers, said Whitten’s insecurity about her career fueled many of his physical outbursts and emotional abuse of her.

Whitten has also threatened to release a sex tape of the actress, she told the court.

The mother-of-two, who shares a child with Whitten, said she’s concerned for the well-being of their children amid Whitten’s ongoing behavior.

Whitten was ordered by the court to keep at least 100 yards away from the actress and her children.

Vaughn appeared to take solace in her faith amid the difficult life situation, as she wrote in an Instagram post Thursday: ‘Psalm 126. Today Jesus Christ visited your house, on this way out he brought all your worry with him.’

The case is due back in court in September.
