A tradie has been jailed for raping a teenager nearly two years after his teacher ex-fiancée was sentenced for having sex with her 14-year-old student.
Mohammed ‘Moey’ Krayem, 24, was sentenced to a maximum of 17 months behind bars at Sydney’s Downing Centre Court on Friday.
Krayem, a paver, had pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual intercourse without consent after raping a woman, then aged 19, in his car at a carpark in Chullora in Sydney’s west in August, 2020.
The court heard he had performed oral and digital sex on the victim, and penetrated her with his penis – all without her consent – after the pair arranged to meet via Snapchat.
Krayem was once engaged to Monica Young, who worked as a geography teacher and who is now serving a prison sentence for three counts of having sex with a child.

Seven weeks after Young’s last sexual encounter with the boy, Krayem lured his victim to the shopping centre carpark.
Krayem appeared in court on Friday in his prison greens via videolink.
When asked about how Young’s behaviour had impacted him, Krayem said he was ‘blind-sided’.
‘It was enormous in my life, it was something I didn’t see coming, it blindsided me,’ he told the court.
‘One morning I saw it on the news. It went from me almost getting married to this girl to her doing things like that which I don’t condone and I don’t respect.’
Krayem said his mental health suffered greatly as a result and he is now on medication for anxiety and depression.
When the allegations first arose, Krayem had stood by his girlfriend of six years, having met in high school.

Young (above) and Krayem were engaged when she first had sex with the 14-year-old boy on June 24, 2020. That was two days after Krayem had first contacted his victim
In the days after Young pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a child, Krayem posted a ‘message to the haters’ on his Facebook page dedicated to Young.
He uploaded a video of himself kissing her on the cheek and captioned it as ‘my always and forever’, before posting a separate picture of Young decorated with a love heart.
Krayem had by then split with Young but told Daily Mail Australia at the time: ‘I’ll still be sticking beside her no matter the outcome. I’ll always be beside her.’
During his sentencing on Friday, Krayem said he cut all contact with Young after she pleaded guilty.
‘I supported her for the first week she was in custody as a supportive fiance, but once the facts came out I realised that the allegations against her were the truth,’ he said.
‘She’d denied it. It was blindsiding, she never told me the truth, how could she do that?
‘I was with her for several years, it was devastating, and my family were good to her. It was sickening.’
Young and Krayem had been childhood sweethearts and were engaged to be married when she first had sex with the 14-year-old boy on June 24, 2020.

Krayem had initially supported Young after the allegations surfaced but said in court on Friday she ‘blindsided’ him
That was just two days after Krayem made initial contact with his victim and Young had been teaching only three months.
Young and the boy had sex on multiple occasions over the next two weeks, including at least twice on the school’s grounds and once in her car at a park.
She was jailed for a maximum of four years and nine months in July, 2021.
At Krayem’s sentencing on Friday, Judge Peter Berman SC took into account his young age and accepted he’d shown genuine remorse for his crime.
A harrowing victim impact statement was read to the court, in which the victim revealed the catastrophic effects Krayem’s assault had on her.
She described in detail how the incident had changed her life ‘irrevocably’, explaining she has countless nightmares every night and is never able to have a peaceful sleep.
‘I mourn the life I’ve lived’: Victim’s harrowing statement
She no longer trusts those around her, including her husband, family and friends, and battles with severe anxiety and depression.
‘I saw beauty in everything and everyone, everything was exciting, everything had life,’ she said.
‘I remember everything I was before this trauma and I cry. I mourn the life I lived and the life I could’ve lived if this didn’t happen.’
The victim also spoke of her severe paranoia that her offender would attack her again, revealing she constantly had nightmares he was standing in her room watching her.
‘I am disgusted by the contrast of the girl I used to be and the girl I am standing before you today,’ she said.
‘The ugly truth is I cannot trust anyone anymore. I miss going to the movies and not feeling like he is watching me, ready to attack again.
‘It dawns on me this feeling of isolation I feel will stay with me until I die.’
Her self-worth has reduced so significantly since the event, the victim said she cannot bear to even look at herself in the mirror.
‘My own husband has triggered me just by being around me when I’m not in sound mind, not even he can help me when I’m panicking,’ she continued.
‘No woman should feel this way around her husband, friends or family.
‘No time or place in my life has felt safe since the attack.’
The victim struggles to leave home, answer the door when friends come to check in, and says she has a daily fear of being in a room with more men than women.

Krayem messaged the 19-year-old woman via Snapchat on August 24, 2020 to arrange meeting in person for a sexual encounter. He asked her to wear a skirt and no shoes
Krayem shut his eyes during moments of the victim impact statement, before being given the chance to speak.
‘I’m glad I got the chance to see the victim, to talk to her, I’m shattered by the choice I made at the time. It was reckless,’ he said.
‘I’m regretful, remorseful, there’s times I cry myself to sleep thinking that I hurt someone.
‘I’m not usually the type of person that would hurt anyone, I’m so disappointed in myself, I’m from a good family.’
Krayem said he’d taken part in programs on consent and was a ‘way better’ person than the man he was at the time of the attack.
The court heard while in custody he was bashed by three inmates, leaving him with stitches under his eyebrow. Krayem said a prison guard had leaked his charges.
Krayem first contacted his victim on June 22, 2020 using the Snapchat name ’emkayd69er’ and claimed to be a construction site manager whose father was a millionaire businessman.
According to a statement of facts tendered to the court, communication between the pair became increasingly frequent and featured messages, pictures and videos of a sexual nature.
Eventually there was a disagreement and the pair stopped talking but resumed sending messages on Snapchat two months later.
The pair arranged to meet in the carpark with Krayem, who told the woman he had limited time to spare, asking her to wear a skirt to their liaison.
‘And don’t wear shoes,’ he wrote. ‘I wanna see those toes.’
The court heard the pair began kissing in his car but Krayem then went on to orally, digitally and vaginally rape the woman.
The encounter lasted for just under 18 minutes and ended with Krayem’s mother calling him.
‘Oh, that’s my mum,’ he said.
The victim then said, ‘I’ll go’ and Krayem responded, ‘Yeah, do you mind?’
The pair drove off separately and the victim told a friend what had happened on her way home.
She reported the assaults to police at Marrickville and Krayem was arrested and charged nine months later on April 26, 2021.
Judge Berman said his prison sentence would be backdated to February 12 this year.
Counting time already served, Krayem could be released on parole on October 20 this year.
His ex-fiancée will be eligible for parole on October 31 this year.
