This is the shocking moment a Florida high school student body slams a cop trying to break up a fight between two other kids.

The 15-year-old boy, who has not been named, also landed punches down on policeman Russell Ball during the vile encounter in St Cloud on Thursday.

The young thug marched over to the school resource officer, grabbed him by the neck before flipping him on to his back.

He then pulled away from the cop and started reigning blows down on him before school staff dragged him off.

The child was arrested for battery of a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence.

Authorities say Ball was separating two other students, both 14, from fighting each other when the unnamed 15-year-old — who was not involved in the fight — walked up to the cop and grabbed him by the neck.

The student then allegedly pulled the officer away from the fight, and the officer attempted to control the student ‘with the least amount of force possible,’ according to St Cloud Police Chief Douglas Goerke.

Footage then shows the 15-year-old wrapping his arms around a school resource officer and flipping him to the ground as bystanders at St. Cloud High School in Florida yell in surprise.

The student could then be seen repeatedly body slamming and punching the officer before, authorities say a school administrator, another school resource officer and other students intervened.

They were able to get the student under control, FOX 13 reports, until other cops arrived on the scene. Neither the boy nor Officer Ball were injured in the attack.

Police say the student was arrested Thursday for battery of a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence.

He is now being held at the Juvenile Assessment Center in Orlando, according to FOX News, as officers work to release body camera footage of the incident.

Charges against the other two students who were involved in the fight, including battery of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence, are pending.

Goerke called the video ‘extremely disturbing’ in a statement, adding that the attack was completely unprovoked.

‘To be clear, the incident Officer Ball was dealing with did not involve the student that was was arrested,’ he said. ‘Officer Ball was there to prevent two other students from harming each other.

‘What occurred to Officer Ball was despicable and should never have happened,’ he added. ‘We will never tolerate behavior that targets our officers and will hold those accountable at the highest levels.’

He added that Ball has been working at the school for the past 12 years.

According to his profile on the St. Cloud High School website, Ball previously served in the United States Air Force for for years, and has been an officer with the St. Cloud Police Department for 18 years.

The profile says: ‘Officer Ball takes his job of campus safety and security very seriously and wants to make sure students are safe and able to learn in an environment without worrying about anything happening to them on his watch.

‘He feels it is his duty to ensure the parents that their children are safe, and they should have nothing to worry about when they send their kids to school.’
