This is the shocking moment a gang of ‘feral children’ appear to throw punches at a man, before dragging him to the ground and stamping on his head.

The sickening viral footage emerged on X on Saturday night of scenes filmed just metres away from Zandi Barbers in Cowgate, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

In the 25-second clip, a group of around youths can be seen gathering around a man and throwing punches at him.

A man wearing a  red top is pulled away from the group by a second man wearing light-coloured trousers and a dark top.

The violence continues between a youth wearing a blue hoodie and a third man wearing a red top and black trousers.

As the pair fall to the ground, the youths clamber around them and shout to one another.

Several of the youths then appear to kick at their victim repeatedly, at least five times.

A voice off-camera shouts, ‘that’s enough, enough!’ before the clip ends.

When approached by MailOnline, the owner of the barber shop in Ponteland Road, denied the altercation involved any of his colleagues.

He added that it happened ‘a couple of days ago’.

A series of social media posts on Facebook commenting on the video suggest that the youths had just moments before had an altercation with employees at a nearby pizza shop.

According to a woman who witnessed the incident, the youngsters boarded a bus at a stop just outside the barber shop.

They were then followed by two men wearing red tops who ‘stormed’ onto the bus.

It is alleged the men started ‘punching the young boys’ before turning on the partner of the witness, who had asked them to leave the bus.

According to the witness, the bus driver remained at the stop while the police were called out to the scene.

The video has attracted thousands of views across social media platforms, with many calling out the behaviour of the young boys.

One described their conduct as ‘disgusting’, while another said they were, ‘wrong, so very very wrong’.

Another said, ‘I’d be ashamed if they were my kids, I’d hand them in to the police myself, there’s just no need for this kind of behaviour’.

A fourth said: ‘Feral and absolutely shocking behaviour’.

MailOnline has contacted Northumbria Police for further comment.
