Video shows a motorbike dramatically slamming into a ‘clown’ cyclist who swerved into the middle of the road before checking behind him first while wearing headphones.

The incident took place near the Liverpool International Business Park after the cyclist apparently did not hear the biker approaching.

Footage of the crash was shared on Facebook on Saturday by Michael Stephens, who was thrown from his bike after the collision.

The video shows Michael riding down the road with the cyclist visible in the distance and draws closer to the oblivious rider.

As the cyclist then begins to move into the centre of the road, he spots a car pulling out to the right but does not hear the bike behind him.

The cyclist can be seen turning his head just as the pair collide and knock each other off their vehicles.

Michael calls the cyclist a ‘f***ing clown’ and exclaims ‘f***ing hell man’ as the cyclist responds ‘sorry mate, I didn’t see you’.

The biker then scolds the cyclist: ‘You should look behind you, you know’.

Social-media users were split in their response, with some blaming Michael and others saying the cyclist was in the wrong. One Facebook account said: 'Road sign said “SLOW” and you were approaching two possible hazards'. Another commented: 'Cyclist at fault there like dint see ya can hear though' while a third said: 'How did he not hear it'
