Moment petrol station attendant smashes entire bottle of red wine over customer’s head

Shocking video shows the moment a Louisiana petrol station attendant smashed a bottle of red wine over a customer’s head after a furious argument over payment.

Cashier Saleh A. Ahmed, 45, of New Iberia faces charges of aggravated second-degree battery for the May incident, which saw him allegedly strike the customer twice with the bottle for causing a disturbance.

At the time of the story being reported in May, Ahmed was being held in the Iberia Parish Jail, according to New Iberia Police Sgt. Daesha Hughes. 

According to reports at the time, the victim of the attack was asked to count the money that was handed to the cashier.

However, the victim is said to have gotten angry and punched a plexiglass divider above the cash register. 

In response, Ahmed is then said to have picked up a bottle of wine from behind the counter and walked around to the other side, at which point he struck the victim. 

Footage showed that the victim of the attack first punched the plexiglass between him and the cashier, during the argument about counting the cash

The cashier was then shown walking around from behind the counter and the plexiglass with a bottle of red wine in hand, before using it to hit the customer

The incident was captured on surveillance footage from inside the store, which shows the incident unfold.

The customer is shown punching the plexiglass screen between him and Ahmed.

Ahmed is then shown grabbing a bottle of red wine from behind the counter and walking around to the same side as the customer.

He is shown walking up to the surprised victim and striking him in the head with the bottle. The victim staggers backwards and raises his arm to defend himself.

Ahmed is shown quickly hitting the vicim again in the head, and this time the bottle smashed over him, sending glass and red-wine everywhere.

As the video comes to an end, the victim is shown retreating out the store trying to his the cashier, while being punched by Ahmed.

Hughes said at the time that the victim was not arrested, and the owner of the store chose not to press charges. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for the injuries he sustained.
