Moment Question Time audience member is caught muttering ‘B*****ks to Boris becoming next PM

An audience member of BBC’s Question Time was caught saying ‘b*****ks’ on national TV after the possibility of Boris Johnson’s returning as Prime Minister was raised.

The expletive was captured on last night’s BBC One show, which saw Fiona Bruce joined by a panel including Graham Stuart MP, Jess Phillips MP and Mr Johnson’s sister, columnist and broadcaster Rachel Johnson.

The panel moved towards the audience to hear their opinions, when one individual expressed his view on who should succeed Liz Truss – after only 44 days in office.

The man said: ‘Graham spoke at the beginning about wanting someone who can command a majority in the Commons, and Jess said something about them needing a mandate, a proper mandate.

‘There’s only one man who’s got both of those boxes ticked, and that’s Boris Johnson.’

In response to the statement, another man, sitting in front of the speaker, could be heard uttering the word ‘b*****ks’ before rolling his eyes upwards in contempt.

The speaker continued by stating: ‘I think it’s time for him to come back,’ as audience members laughed in the background at the indiscreet objection.

Twitter quickly picked up on the contentious moment – with one viewer writing: ‘Love the bloke in front of the Boris Groupee audibly saying b*****ks and rolling his eyes.’

Another said:‘Deep belly laugh, that was hilarious,’ while someone else remarked: ‘I’ll buy “b*****ks man” a drink.’

As the panel and audience continued their discussion, another individual commented on Twitter: ‘the bloke at the front speaks for most of us’, while also observing that there was a ‘deafening silence from the audience’ over the suggestion of Mr Johnson becoming PM again.

‘We need to find that gentleman seated in front of this young, Tory fool and get him on to the New Year’s Honours List,’ another individual quipped.

Following Truss’s resignation as PM yesterday, the battle for Downing Street is back in full swing, and reports suggest that Johnson is pushing for a ‘dream ticket’ comeback with Rishi Sunak.

On the same broadcast last night, Boris Johnson’s sister said the man he used to mock as Captain Hindsight, Sir Keir Starmer, was a ‘Prime Minister in waiting’.

Rachel Johnson even laid out how the Labour leader’s first days could look if he got the top political position.

She was asked her opinion on whether Sir Keir would make a credible Prime Minister.

Ms Johnson said: ‘Of course he would. He looks like a Prime Minister, he sounds like a Prime Minister.

‘At the moment he is Prime Minister in waiting as the polls stand isn’t he? He’s, what, 30 points ahead?

‘So all he’s got to do as far as I can see is not spook the markets anymore. When the next Prime Minister comes in, they can get rid of Jeremy Hunt if he or she so desires, but the real boss is the bond markets.

‘So that’s what Keir’s got to look at when he lays out, which he will, his economic plan and his manifesto going into the next election.’

Backers of the ex-PM are clamouring for a shock return just six weeks after he was ousted from power amid a flood of ministerial resignations over Partygate and sleaze.

Cabinet minister Jacob Rees-Mogg lined up behind him today, and some have speculated he could rack up as many as 140 out of the 357 Conservative MPs – making him all-but unstoppable.

However, critics believe his fans are noisy rather than numerous, predicting he will fall short of 100. Tallies suggest Mr Sunak is at 45 backers, while Mr Johnson is on 31 and Ms Mordaunt 16. The former chancellor unveiled Gavin Williamson and Liam Fox as his latest additions this afternoon.

Johnson is evidently a deeply divisive figure with the public and on the Tory benches. One critic branded him an ‘ego on sticks’ and another urged him to ‘go back to the beach.’
