Moment teenager wows Hamish and Andy with bizarre skill after boasting he can ‘perfectly draw a line to a desired length without using a ruler’

  • Hamish and Andy were amazed by a teen genius who showed his special skill

  • He went through three tests set by the comedians and passed the first two trials

A teenage boy with a bizarre talent for precisely drawing lines to set lengths without using a ruler has wowed comedians Hamish Blake and Andy Lee.

Elliot, a self proclaimed ‘line length expert, appeared on the duo’s podcast to show off his skills.

The 18-year-old wrote into the show and said he could perfectly draw a line on a piece of paper to a desired length without using a ruler.

‘Or can perfectly identify the length of a line drawn on a piece of paper to the millimetre. You can choose which is better,’ he wrote in his application.

‘Line length expert’ Elliot, 18, appeared on their podcast to show off that he ‘can perfectly draw a line on a piece of paper to a desired length without using a ruler’

He was set three trial tasks by the duo to see if his claims were true.

Elliot guessed a line drawn by Andy to the nearest millimetre with a one millimetre margin of error for the first task.

‘Lock in, maybe 8.4 centimetres,’ Elliot said after examining the line.

‘It’s 8.3 centimetres!’ a bewildered Andy said.

‘We would like a line that is 4.8 centimetres long,’ Andy said for the second trial.

Elliot made two dots on the paper and drew a line between them.

‘It’s a bit wonky,’ Elliot said as his hands shook when he drew the line.

‘It’s the skinny side of 4.9,’ Hamish said after measuring the line.

‘He’s got it!’ Andy said.

'That one looks like it's come out of a seismograph!' Hamish said. Elliot's hands were shaking during the tasks because he was so nervous

‘This should be the easiest. You just have to draw a line and tell us how long it is between five and 10 centimetres,’  Andy said for the third and final task.

‘You’re clearly nervous because you said you do a really straight line but that one has wobbled all over the place,’ he said as Elliot drew the line.

‘That one looks like it’s come out of a seismograph!’ Hamish added.

‘I’m a bit shaky,’ Elliot said.

He guessed the line was 8.7 centimetres long but it was in fact 8.95 centimetres.

‘Nah, he hasn’t got it,’ said Andy.

The hosts congratulated a panting Elliot who was clearly disappointed by his performance.

‘That was one of the most incredible talents,’ Hamish said.
