Moment train plows into a big rig on a crossing after trucker drives past safety barriers

Dashcam footage has captured the shocking moment a train plowed into a big rig on a crossing after a trucker drove past closing safety barriers.
The trucker was seen driving through the crossing in Salem, Oregon, near Court Street Northeast and Center Street Northeast at about 8.30am on Tuesday.
As the red barriers start to descend the truck continues driving through them, getting one of the gates caught on the top of it.

The truck begins turning and appears to get blocked in the middle of the crossing before trying to reverse out.
Not being able to slow down or come to a stop, the train smashes into the side of the truck – sending it flying through the crossing and on to the other side.
The train doesn’t derail and simply keeps going on the tracks while it comes to a halt.
Salem police said that no one was injured but the intersection was closed for several hours.

The driver whose dashcam caught the footage can be heard shouting: ‘Oh that was f****** awesome!’
He then turns his car around before a police car approaches him to ask what happened.
The driver can be heard saying: ‘Semi-truck just got hit… The truck, the train it’s all f***** up, just happened right now.
‘Right here, the truck’s on the other side of the train, the axle’s in the parking lot.’
