Montana Cox ‘in love’ with Greek tennis champ Stefanos Tsitsipas

Australian model Montana Cox is a fan of Greek tennis champ Stefanos Tsitsipas, 21.

The single star, who will attend a VIP party ahead of the Australian Open, told The Sunday Telegraph’s Confidential that she hopes to meet the ‘gorgeous’ sportsman.

‘I am in love with him,’ the 26-year-old said of the world number six.

Montana will join local stars such as Jesinta Franklin at the 21st annual Crown IMG Tennis Party on Sunday, and Stefanos is expected to attend. 

‘Honestly that Greek guy [Stefanos] – I am in love with him. He is gorgeous. I’ve checked to see if he is going to the event,’ Montana told the paper. 

‘Rafael Nadal is going, so that’s good enough, he will do,’ she added with a laugh.

Stefanos, who shut down rumours of a romance with Greek tennis star Maria Sakkari in October last year, told press at the time what he looks for in a woman.

‘She needs to be clever,’ he said. ‘Of course, the beauty plays an important factor too.’ 

‘I would like my partner to understand me. A tennis player’s life is not easy. There are many trips and you have to stay focused, have eyes set on your goals.

‘Not many women accept it. She should not necessarily play tennis, but she should understand and be with me in good and tough moments.’   

Meanwhile, Montana was rumoured to have been dating millionaire pub baron Justin Hemmes, 46, in September last year.

However she denied the claims, telling The Sydney Morning Herald in October that they’re just good mates.

‘We are just friends, we have always just been friends, I think people just like to talk about things,’ Montana said.   

The brunette, who won the 2011 season of Australia’s Next Top Model, dated wine importer Jamie Valmorbida back in 2015. 

Montana met Jamie in the Lavazza tent during Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival the year prior.   

The 2020 Australian Open kicks off on January 20 and runs until February 2.
