Montana man charged after killing woman with a frying pan

A Montana man has been accused of killing one woman and injuring two others in a brutal attack with a frying pan. 

James Brien, 22, has been charged with deliberate homicide and assault for targeting the three women on February 8 in Hardin, Montana.  

One women called police, the second woman had a bloody face and a third slipped in and out of consciousness after the beating, according to the Billings Gazette.

Brien is being held on $1 million bail.

The woman who was knocked unconscious was put on life support at Saint Vincent Healthcare in Billings. She died last Saturday.

No names for the victims have been released. 

The woman who died has been described as a resident of Hardin in her 40s.

The woman who was killed by the blow was reportedly found conscious when law enforcement arrived, but fell into a state of unconsciousness on a couch while police were at the scene of the crime, according to KRTV. 

Brien told authorities that he was swinging the frying pan, but denied striking anyone.
