Montel Williams was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday in NYC after he ‘overdid it’ at the gym.
The 61-year-old TV personality, who deals with Multiple Sclerosis, was ‘admitted to the hospital out of an abundance of caution,’ said his PR rep Jonathan Franks.
According to a statement, Montel ‘is doing well and anticipates being discharged soon.’

Franks, who spoke with TMZ, explained that Williams felt something was wrong after doing dumbbell squats.
When Montel returned to his room, he made a 911 call.
‘The Williams family will be forever grateful for the quick response from NYFD and the excellent care he has received,’ Jonathan said in the statement.
He also noted that ‘in the coming days, Montel will tell his story himself.’

Williams was diagnosed with MS back in 1999.
The Baltimore native, who uses medical marijuana to manage his pain, recently released his own line of hemp-derived CBD products called Lenitiv.

Montel is a father-of-four.
He shares his two eldest daughters—Ashley Williams, 34, and Maressa Williams, 30—with his ex-wife Rochele See.
And he co-parents his two youngest children—Montel Williams Jr., 25, and Wyntergrace Williams, 24—with ex-wife Grace Morley.
Williams is currently married to Tara Fowler—his wife of 11 years.
