Monterey, Sydney crash: Boys, 9 and 10, killed as car smashes into tree

Two young boys have died after a car they were travelling in crashed into a tree.

The vehicle, which was also carrying a nine-year-old girl, hit the tree on The Grand Parade in Monterey, just south of Sydney Airport, at around 9.50pm on Friday.

The two boys, aged nine and 10, were treated at the scene before being taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital where they died.

The little girl was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.

The car’s 33-year-old driver was not hurt. He was taken to St George Hospital for mandatory testing. 

A crime scene has been established.
