Mortifying moment Aussie women make a shock discovery while enjoying a risqué dip in their ‘private’ pool in Bali

Two Aussie women were red-faced after an early morning skinny dip at a Bali resort didn’t go to plan.

Karina Horton, 24, a photographer, and her friend Bella, 20, a business owner, had been backpacking through Bali when they decided to splurge on a luxurious villa stay. 

Hoping for some privacy and relaxation after their travels, they booked what appeared to be a secluded, retreat with white-walled interiors and a serene pool.

Arriving at 6am, hot, tired, and eager to cool off after checking in, the pair stripped off and jumped into the pool naked, believing they had the place entirely to themselves.

The travellers shared their hilarious slip-up on TikTok, where the video quickly amassed 20 million views.

The footage showed the women swimming and splashing until a man emerged from his room to find out what the commotion was.

The pair sheepishly waved at their unexpected guest.

The shocked women replied ‘Australia’ as they waited for him to leave. 

After he retreated, they climbed out of the water hastily cover themselves up with towels. 

But just when they thought the awkward encounter was over, Bella spotted the man still watching them off-camera and let out a shriek to alert her friend.

The clip is captioned, ‘POV: we thought we booked a private villa but when we arrived at 6am we soon realised…’

‘We were expecting a private villa, not a shared one,’ Ms Horton told Jam Press.

‘We wanted a swim in the pool after a hot travel day. 

‘Then we jumped in, and a man came out of his room.

‘We were shocked and surprised, but we then looked online and realised it wasn’t advertised as shared or private.’

In a follow-up video, the women confirmed that they weren’t wearing any clothes when they dived in.

‘To answer all your questions. We in fact were (naked)’, they captioned the video.  

Viewers couldn’t get enough of the unexpected encounter.

‘Omg HAHAH are you guys skinny dipping,’ one laughed.

Another joked, ‘Did you forget to pack swimsuits?!’ 

‘Skinny dipping is crazy,’ added a third, summing up what many were thinking. 

Despite the surprise, the two women took the moment in stride,  turning a travel hiccup into a viral hit.

The women had some advice for fellow travellers.

‘Check the room option photos and details,’ Bella said. 

‘Not just the overall accommodation, as you never know what room you could get.’
