Most viewed properties for sale on Rightmove revealed

The most popular homes for sale have been revealed and they all have hefty price tags of at least a couple of million pounds.

While the average price of a home in Britain is £270,000, all the properties in the top five most viewed homes for sale on Rightmove are out of reach of the typical house hunter.

And in two cases, the asking prices extend into eight figure territory, hovering around the £30million mark.

The cheapest property for sale in the list costs £2million and is a striking modern four-bedroom house in Wales.

The most popular homes for sale have been revealed, including this eleven-bed mansion in Surrey’s Oxshott, which is on the market for £29million (scroll down for more details)

The most viewed homes include a new £29million mansion and a £32million country mansion with a helicopter pad. Both of these homes are in affluent Surrey.

However, it still costs significantly more than the £269,914 average cost of a home in Britain, as calculated by Nationwide Building Society.

It means most of the searches online for these expensive homes will be window shopping, with no realistic expectation of ever being able to afford the properties.

Catherine Merrett, of estate agents Antony Roberts, said: ’Some people will be viewing online with a future move in mind as a form of research and to understand pricing. Some would-be buyers also look at high-end properties for interior ideas for their own home with no intention of buying or selling.’

Here, we take a look at the top five most viewed homes on Rightmove for the month of May this year.
