- They reportedly survived off water in a nearby rock pool, and are now in hospital
After ten days lost in the bush, a mother and her nine-year-old son have been found in the Hunter Valley.
Michelle Pittman and her son Dylan were located on Mount Royal Road within the Mount Royal National Park about 12.30pm on Thursday.
Both mother and son were sustained through their ordeal by drinking water from a rock pool, 7 News reported.

The pair had been missing for 10 days, after first setting out on a bush walk on Monday, October 2.
They were reported missing by family members on October 4 when they failed to return and a large-scale search was launched on Monday, when their car was found .
Police, SES, paramedics and National Parks and Wildlife rangers all lent a hand in the desperate quest to find the mother and child.
Eventually, they were picked up by police after making their way onto Mount Royal Road.
NSW Police Inspector Joanne Schultz told 7 News the pair were found in good condition.
‘They’re both very well, obviously very relieved, very hungry but otherwise they’re quite good,’ she said.
Michelle and Dylan have been taken to Singleton Hospital to receive treatment for dehydration and insect bites.
