An Australian mum has received the surprise of a lifetime this Christmas after her generous son bought her a retro beachfront property for a whopping $6.35million, beating out dozens of potential buyers.
According to realestate.com.au, the brown brick house decked out with original 1970s detailing reminded the buyer of his childhood and he now hopes his mother can spend her days relaxing and taking in the breathtaking sea views.
Many of the 100 potential buyers had plans to knock down and develop the property, however listing agent Rob Cinelli said the mother and son intend to leave the home untouched to preserve its 1970s charm.

‘He just wanted to give her something special and she is just absolutely overjoyed with it,’ he told the website.
‘There are very few where people can walk off their backyard and directly onto sand and the actual beach and that is what makes this so unique.’
Mr Cinelli from LJ Hooker Southern Gold Coast said he received around 100 inquiries for the beachfront property from across Australia as well as the UK and Canada.
Some of the inquirers were developers attracted to the property’s medium density residential zoning with a 29m building height limit.
