Queensland woman Lauren Watts, 40, died on Tuesday morning and is survived by her husband Drew Duncan and children Olivia, Will, Jimmy and Jude.

‘My love, my partner in life, my partner in crime (before the kids came along) and amazing Mum to our kids,’ Mr Duncan wrote in an open letter on Wednesday.

Ms Watts studied a dual degree at the University of the Sunshine Coast, gaining a bachelors degree in Nursing Science and another in Midwifery while also successfully juggling being a mother.

‘You were the heart of our family, and kept it beating with your love. Unfortunately, I think you must have used up all of your own beats on everyone else,’ Mr Duncan wrote.

‘You kept fighting for the best for all of us when crap cards kept getting dealt our way.’

‘Your passion was on show in everything you did. You always put everyone before yourself. You worked harder than anyone should have to to make our family, your career and our life together.’

‘We had more challenges than most, and met them head on together… Love you, Baby. For ever and ever.’

A GoFundMe has been setup by a friend of Ms Watts to help support the family.

‘Drew and Lauren spent a lifetime together and built a wonderful family. They stood together facing everything the world could throw at them,’ friend Jacq Lawson said.

‘She never stopped smiling and laughing. Her caring spirit was felt by all who knew her.’

‘Drew not only lost his partner, but their four young children lost their wonderful mother. The world is a little less sunny without your light here.’

‘I studied with Lauren and have have only fond memories of her,’ another said.

‘A truly beautiful soul taken too soon,’ added a third.

‘She was a beautiful light and will be greatly missed,’ said a fourth.
