Mother, 37, is left with a huge gash across her neck after being slashed with a box-cutter by a lanky thug with revolting scabs across his face

  • Police still on the hunt for a vile thug who slit a woman’s throat in broad daylight
  • He attacked the woman in St Kilda when she refused to hand over her purse
  • She managed to make it home and notify police but the offender is still at large 
  • He is Caucasian with several sores around his mouth and was wearing a blue cap 

A mother was left with a large gash across her neck following a brazen daylight robbery.

Police in Victoria are still hunting for a man with several sores around his mouth who attacked the woman, 37, before making off with her purse.

The incident took place at around 3.30pm on Thursday November 29 in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda.

Victoria Police said the victim had been walking down the street when she was approached by the man.

He threatened her with a knife and demanded she hand over her purse.

When she refused he lunged forward and cut her throat, leaving her with a 8cm gash on her neck. 

The man then stole the victim’s purse before she managed to call police.

Investigators have since released a digital image of the man, believed to be in his 30s and of caucasian appearance.

They have also appealed for witnesses to come forward.
