Mother names newborn twins Ronnie and Reggie…not knowing their famous namesakes

Mother-of-five names her newborn twins Ronnie and Reggie… and only later learns another pair of baby boys have had the names before

  • She named them Ronnie and Reggie but insists she has never heard of the Krays
  • That didn’t stop her from dressing them in sharp outfits reminiscent of the Krays

A young mother who named her twin boys Ronnie and Reggie insists she had never heard of their infamous East End gangster namesakes.

Mother-of-five Lisa Tarr, 27, from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire gave birth to the premature boys in October and they fought off a bout of bronchitis.

She said she named them Ronnie and Reggie because she kept coming across the names on Google.

However, the full-time mother insisted they are not named after the infamous Kray twins, telling people who have asked her that she’d never heard of the gangsters.

That didn’t stop her dressing them in waistcoats and bowties – drawing comparisons with the slick suits the Kray twins were famous for.

Lisa also proudly dressed her twins in Christmas outfits with Reggie as Santa Claus, suited and booted in red and white, and Ronnie in a Elf costume with a pointy hat.

She said: ‘I kept googling for boy names, and those two kept coming up.

‘When I told people I was thinking of calling my twins Ronnie and Reggie, they asked me if I was thinking of the Kray twins.

‘I’d not heard of them – obviously they’re not named after that Ronnie and Reggie!

‘But they’re nice, old-fashioned names, and they suit my sons.

‘Reggie is a bit bigger than Ronnie, so we thought we’d have to dress him up as Santa instead of Ronnie.

‘But Ronnie is a little smaller, and is a little mischief – so he’s definitely an elf. The two of them are so beautiful, and such tough fighters.

‘My whole family is so smitten with them, and I’ve had such a positive reaction from my friends as well when they’ve seen them dressed like that.

‘I couldn’t believe how much other people love them too. They’re my boys, I just love them to absolute bits.’

They’ve had an uphill battle since October 21, and spent two weeks in November recovering from bronchitis.

But Lisa’s youngest boys have ‘gone from strength to strength’ – and she ‘can’t wait to spend this holiday with them at their healthiest yet’.

Lisa is also mother to Jordan, 10, Kye, four, and Lyla, two.

Together with her 30-year-old handyman partner Noel Oxlade, they will be spending Christmas Day with Lisa’s family.
