The mother of a bullied 10-year-girl who was allegedly hung from a tree by a skipping rope fashioned as a makeshift noose has had a request for a restraining order against her dropped.
Perth woman Belinda Yoon was facing a potential restraining order taken out by the parents of the girl accused of bullying her daughter, Amber Yoon.
The bully’s parents filed the order against Mrs Yoon after they claimed she was driving past their home in an agitated state.
They also said their daughter had been the victim of trolling and online abuse.

The case was set to go to court late last week but the application was dropped – much to Mrs Yoon’s relief.
She says the whole situation should never have escalated like this and she’s now working on implementing comprehensive anti-bullying campaign into schools across Western Australia.
‘It’s shown me where there is a major flaw in our legal system, in our school system and that’s where I’m going to focus on changing that because we need to protect our children, we’re adults and if we’re not going to do it then who is?’ Mrs Yoon told 7 News Perth.
Mrs Yoon denied the harassment allegations at the time, saying she had ‘no idea’ who the parents of the accused bully were or where they even lived.
Mrs Yoon’s daughter, 10-year-old Amber Yoon, was the victim of an alleged attack in which a classmate of hers made a noose from a skipping rope, placed it around her neck and hung her from a tree.
The bullying incident last year left Amber (pictured with her mother, Belinda Yoon) with a damaged oesophagus
Amber Yoon suffers from a number of illnesses, and had allegedly been the victim of incessant bullying from the girl accused of the rope attack.
At the time police looked in to the incident but were unable to determine beyond doubt whether the alleged perpetrator knew the consequences of their actions or acted with malicious intent.
Mrs Yoon said the incident had impacted her daughter’s health.
‘It looks like it has damaged her oesophagus and [with] the surgery she had done last year, she has started vomiting blood again,’ she said.
Amber has now moved schools and Mrs Yoon says she is settling in well.
