Mother-of-three debuts amazing mummy makeover

In 2013, Krischelle Young, 42, tipped the scales at 140 kilograms.

At that moment, the mother-of-three, from Newcastle, New South Wales, knew she needed to make a change.

Now 66 kilograms lighter and the recipient of a stunning ‘mummy makeover’, Mrs Young has opened up about her weight loss journey and how she changed her life.

‘I don’t know what made me get on the scale that day but I did and when I saw the number I was just shocked and so upset at how big I had gotten,’ Mrs Young told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I had been overweight for a long time and had tried diets but I could never maintain any weight loss – the problem for me was portion size and late night snacking.

‘The kilos just kept piling on and on and I felt increasingly lethargic, it was hard to get out of bed and I was just always stiff and sore.’

The dedicated nurse decided to look into weight loss surgery after a family friend had it done.

‘I decided to get a gastric sleeve in November 2014 and while both myself and my husband were sceptical, my doctor did say I was a good candidate,’ Mrs Young said.

‘I wasn’t so well afterwards but after about a week the pain subsided and I started to get used to it, it was a bit of a shock to the system.

I wanted to be able to do an RPM class without the skin on my arms touching my thighs.

‘I had barely any appetite (you are only left with 20 per cent of your stomach) which helped with portion size but I also followed a very strict diet which was all about protein and lots of vegetables.’

After her recovery period, Mrs Young also got back into exercise and started doing aqua aerobics and gym classes with her friend every week.

The weight started to shed off her – but due to the rapid pace of the loss, she was unfortunately left with excess skin on her stomach, arms and thighs.

‘We were doing RPM classes and pump classes at the gym and I was feeling so great but that wasn’t reflected in my appearance,’ Mrs Young said.

‘I knew I would have loose skin because I had lost weight in the past but I didn’t realise how bad it would be.

‘I was 74 kilos and buying clothes far too big for me because my arms wouldn’t fit into clothes that were my size. It was really disheartening because I was working so hard and feeling so good.

Mrs Young decided to have a ‘mummy makeover’ which included excess skin removal, a tummy tuck, a breast lift and implants.

Appearing on Nine’s This Time Next Year, the 42-year-old pledged to have her mummy makeover in a bid to be the ‘me that I want to be’.

‘I see a hot mummy actually… I see someone that I’ve been wishing to be and I can’t remember being like this in my twenties. I am rocking it out at 42!’ She said.

Mrs Young had three surgeries across 2016 and said while it was a tough recovery process, she wouldn’t change a thing.

She now also plays netball and squash every week and squeezes in gym classes whenever she has the time.

‘When I looked in the mirror I shed tears – I couldn’t believe my arms and how great they looked,’ she said.

‘I am thrilled with my whole body and I can’t believe it’s so good – no more rashes, no more embarrassment.’

Mrs Young said her whole life has improved and she finally looks like the woman she is on the inside.

‘Not only is my health better but my kids have their mum back,’ she said.

‘I had to put myself first but what inspired me to do that wasn’t the number on the scales but the fact that if I kept going how I was, my kids wouldn’t have a mum.

‘Now they have an active mum and a confident mum who isn’t worried about how she looks – someone that is no longer embarrassed of herself.’
