Mother of two DUMPS a bag of poo on the counter of Chemist Warehouse

A mother-of-two who left a bag of faeces on the counter of Chemist Warehouse has walked from court without a conviction.

The 29-year-old aspiring nurse had been at the pharmacy in Redland City, Queensland, on March 9 when staff said her son, 4, couldn’t use the bathroom.

Chemist Warehouse employees told the mum that she would have to take her child across the road to the Hungry Jack’s.

The pair left the pharmacy but went back about 7:30pm that evening and dumped a plastic bag of faeces on the counter, according to CCTV evidence.

Prosecutor Chelsea Pearson told the court the woman, who is in her third year of study and only had a couple of subjects to go, told staff ‘here is your bag of sh*t’.

A security guard stopped her as she tried to leave the store who told her to take the bag with her.

The court was told she hit the security guard with an open hand.

Her defence lawyer, Barrister Patrick Cullinane, argued that she was acting out of character, had no criminal history and was particularly stressed.

She pleaded guilty to public nuisance and assault occasioning bodily harm in Mackay Magistrates Court on Sunday.

Magistrate Mark Nolan said the woman’s behaviour was not acceptable and that she should have known better.

‘Having your child’s faeces in a bag and placing it on the counter of the pharmacy … it’s an awful thing to do,’ he said.

‘Regardless of how frustrated you may have been … the staff there don’t deserve to be treated that way.

The woman was warned when she spoke out of turn, telling the judge that staff were rude to her.

She was fined $1500 and no conviction was recorded.
