‘He’s killed our shower’: Mother roasts her husband online for his shocking cleaning skills after he took over chores while she was pregnant
- A husband took over cleaning for 18 months while his wife breast fed their baby
- He didn’t know how to clean in between the shower seals and mould grew
- Shower will now have to be replaced as wife can’t get rid of the mould
A mother has roasted her husband’s shocking cleaning skills after he offered to take over the household duties while she was pregnant and caring for her newborn.
Her husband was left to tackle the house cleaning chores for 18 months, damaging the bathroom so badly that the shower is in need of replacement.
Photos shared to a Facebook cleaning tips page for mothers revealed the careless work he had done to the bathroom after mould began to seep through the shower glass panels.
The mother shared a photo of her mould ridden shower (pictured) after her husband had taken over cleaning duties for the past 18 months
‘Wondering if anyone has any advice as I think my husband has killed our shower,’ the woman wrote in the Facebook post.
The mum explained that while she was breastfeeding her baby, her husband had managed to ruin their bathroom, without her even noticing.
‘Fast forward 18 months and I went to clean the shower and it looks like this,’ she said.
‘I didn’t notice as I wasn’t bending down there (and was too busy trying to keep our baby alive) and it turns out he didn’t know you were meant to clean the seals,’ she said.
She admitted that the shower would probably have to be replaced due to her husband’s lack of cleaning knowledge.
Other mums in the group offered advice but weren’t confident she would be able to remove the mould from the shower.
‘I really don’t know how you’re going to remove the mould if it’s in-between the glass,’ one mother said.

One woman even said she had the same problem and the only option was to get the shower replaced.
‘Ours was the same. The shower had to go.’
In some cases mould can be removed with chlorine or hydrogen peroxide, but if there is too much of a build up, the surface will need replacing.
If mould is inhaled, some health problems can arise such as skin irritation, a blocked nose and wheezing.
