Mother serves fussy son homemade pizza in a TAKEAWAY BOX

Parents everywhere know the frustration of getting a child to finish their dinner.

But one mother has come up with a very simple way to entice even the fussiest eaters to clean their plates.

Terri Munro, from Harlow, Essex, revealed how she tricked her toddler son George into eating a healthy homemade pizza by serving it in a takeaway pizza box she had bought on eBay.

The idea was such a hit that she is also going to try and serve the 22-month-old carrots disguised in an empty chips packet.

She wrote: ‘He thinks he’s got a takeaway!,’ adding jokingly: ‘It was such a success I may have to put his milk in a coke bottle now.’

Terri explained that George had seen his aunt eating 'pizza in a box' and desperately wanted one of his own. But she came up with a healthy alternative to buying one from a takeaway

One mother wrote: ‘Fantastic idea ! I’m stealing for my two.’ Another agreed: ‘I’m buying some next week, might help with my son, brilliant idea.’

A third came up with clever ways it could be used for other meals, writing: ‘Genius! I’m going to try similar with the plastic tubs from the Chinese takeaway.’

The post has racked up more than a thousand likes from parents desperate to try the takeaway trick at home.

Speaking to The Motherload, Terri explained that George had seen his aunt eating ‘pizza in a box’ and desperately wanted one of his own.

‘So I thought a healthier and cheaper way would be to buy or make the pizza and stick it in a pizza box and it works a treat,’ she said.

‘We plan on using carrot sticks in the fries box, making healthier food fun to eat. At the end of the day, getting George to eat sometimes is hard work, so anything we can try that makes that process easier is worth a try.’
