A group of Australian mothers is using Aldi’s Di-San laundry stain remover to clean stubborn grout stains on their tiles –  with impressive results.

The $1.25 spray is well known for being an antibacterial powerhouse on clothing items but it also works to removed blackened marks on household flooring.

One mother, posting about her success in the Mums Who Clean Facebook group, said there was ‘minimal effort involved’.

‘Sprayed it on, left it for a bit. Light scrub of the grout with the grout brush, wipe clean. Who knew I had white grout under there,’ she said.

‘Where have you been all my life Di-San?’.

Another woman agreed, saying that her stubborn grout stains had been there for a decade.

‘Pretty impressed! The grout was actually black and it’s come back to its original cream, it’s not been scrubbed in 10 years,’ she said.

Their photos do much to showcase the differences with many of them looking like freshly laid floors.

A lady who had previously tried Domestos and then a mixture of bi-carb and vinegar to lift the discoloration turned to Di-San as a last resort.
