Mother who documented her 112lb weight loss on Instagram reveals the hurtful comments she receives

A mother-of-three who shares unedited snaps online of her cellulite and stretch marks after losing half her body weight has revealed some of the vicious hate she receives.

Sarah Nicole Landry, from Ontario, Canada, who is pregnant with her fourth child, has a staggering 1.5million followers on Instagram after documenting her transformation from 224lbs to 112lbs.

She aims to liberate others and empower women by showing off her unaltered stomach, bottom and legs – yet despite her positivity, not everyone is impressed with the honest photographs.

Campaigning against body shaming, Sarah took to her social media account to share some of the ‘hurtful’ comments she’s sent by trolls – such as comments branding her ‘saggy or gross’.

Sharing a picture of herself posing with her cellulite showing, Sarah edited the negative messages over the top of the image, while covering up the names of those who had sent them.

‘Angry? Furious? Hurt? ⁣Valid,’ she wrote in the caption. ’But here’s the thing…I never receive this type of hate without actively showing the areas of me publicly that are less socially acceptable.

‘I get that choice. Daily. I can tuck it away and “hide” it, or show it. ⁣For many, their less socially acceptable parts cannot be hidden, cannot be a choice. For they are their entire being.

‘It may not be said to their faces. ⁣But it’s said in every ramp that isn’t there. ⁣Every seat made three sizes too small. ⁣

‘Each doctor’s appointment for a sore throat that was blamed on their weight. ⁣ The stores that don’t welcome them, or section them off from the rest based on sizing. ‘

She added: ‘I’m a size medium. I wear straight sizes (even while pregnant). I can shop anywhere. I can walk into a gym and exercise with ease. I’m fat shamed and body shamed daily. But, it’s still my choice to take that risk. ⁣

‘Many don’t have the privilege to have that choice. ⁣Body shaming is never OK. ⁣And the whole world has been participating in it, in ways we don’t even realize. It’s been a privilege to never have to realize.’

Fans praised the influencer’s candid post, with one person writing: ‘You are one of the brightest lights on my feed… Thank YOU for being you. Keep shining your light, friend.’

The social media guru also explained that she ditched dieting and eats when she feels hungry, refusing to get caught up in what she weighs.

She said: ‘The scales were really hold me back from truly embracing my every day gave me a number of worth, when number was a little too high I felt bad.

‘Now I don’t know what I weigh, I have an idea but I don’t surround my day or meals with thoughts about it. That somehow makes me happier.

‘When I’m hungry I eat, when I’m tired I rest. There’s so much more than claiming how skinny I was, and what size or number I was.

‘I accepted the parts of my body that I disliked and I’m not ashamed any more. It can be hard at moments when I go to the gym or beach, but I work through those emotions.’
