MSNBC host Joy Reid’s attorney says FBI is investigating ‘hacking’

Shamed TV host Joy Reid’s attorney said in a Wednesday statement that federal investigators are looking into his client’s ‘hacked’ online accounts that have left her under public scrutiny.

Reid, who has been accused of making homophobic and salacious commentary on her old blog, The Reid Report, is under fire yet again after more posts that were allegedly written by her show the host cyber-bullying Rosie O’Donnell.

Reid’s attorney, John H. Reichman, released a statement to Reid’s employer, MSNBC.

‘We have received confirmation the FBI has opened an investigation into potential criminal activities surrounding several online accounts, including personal email and blog accounts, belonging to Joy-Ann Reid,’ Reichman said in the statement.

‘Our own investigation and monitoring of the situation will continue in parallel, and we are cooperating with law enforcement as their investigation proceeds.’

The posts shared to The Reid Report in 2007 slammed comedian O’Donnell and ruthlessly called her ‘chubbed-out shrew’ and a ‘fat a**.’

The name-calling lines were followed with: ‘How much longer will the freak show that is ‘The View’ continue to darken our television screens? How much more kick-a** funny can Donald Trump be?’

The MSNBC correspondent was speaking of the former talk show host O’Donnell and Trump’s infamous feud which began back in 2006 and continued into his presidency.

Reid claimed she was hacked after the controversial images from her blog were tweeted out this week which saw her appear to express her homophobic views.

The Twitter user who initially posted the images that are claimed to be from her blog said they were more horrendous than what they seemed.

One example allegedly was posted in defense of Tim Hardaway’s accused homophobia.

The post read: ‘Keeping it real … most straight men feel exactly the same way, and would have the exact same reaction to the idea of stripping naked in a sweaty locker room in close quarters with a gay teammate. Most straight people cringe at the sight of two men kissing.’

The post continued: ‘Most straight people had a hard time being convinced to watch ‘Broke Back Mountain.

‘I admit that I couldn’t go see the movie either, despite my sister’s ringing endorsement, because I didn’t want to watch the two male characters having sex. Does that make me homophobic? Probably.’

The tweet immediately following includes the following language, attributed to Reid:

‘Part of the intrinsic nature of straightness is that homosexual sex is… well… gross,’ adding that the author was sure gay people thought straight sex was gross, too.

Reid previously apologized for the controversial posts in a Facebook post dated in December.
