Shopper shares her ‘hot tip’ to score huge meat haul for $38 – and you don’t need to go to the supermarket

A mother has revealed how she managed to snap up a huge haul of meat for just $38.
The Queensland woman, Josie, posted on Facebook, where she said that you need to find a local wholesale butchers instead of going to the supermarket, if you want to snag a meat bargain.
On this particular occasion, Jodie purchased 20 chicken skewers, 10 of which were marinated, four lean pork steaks, six beef sausages, and eight chicken garlic herb rissoles.

She wrote: ‘Hot tip to save on meat (other than going vegetarian). Find yourself a local WHOLESALE butcher who supplies local restaurants.
‘The quality far outweighs Woolies, Coles and Aldi and it’s cheaper.’
Jodie added: ‘If you don’t know of any wholesale butchers in your area simply Google wholesale butcher near me and it will show you a list of all the wholesale butchers in your area.’
While butcher meat has a tendency to be more expensive than supermarket meat, Jodie said it pays to visit a wholesale butcher.
‘It would have cost me that just for the chicken skewers at my butcher,’ one person commented.
But Jodie said: ‘I know right, me too at my local regular butcher, but my local wholesale butcher is next level quality and value for money.’
Others said they had never thought to shop for meat at a butcher and only shop at supermarkets.

‘I just saw an ad for one (a wholesale butcher) in Adelaide looked at website prices were amazing I’m going to head there tomorrow. I never realised it existed,’ one woman wrote.
Some said they don’t mind forking out a little extra for ‘amazing cuts of meat’ and others thanked Jodie for sharing the suggestion.
‘Yes! Love this. I own a butchers shop and we are all about the quality and value from good meat! Pop into your local and snap up a special,’ one woman said.

It follows after a Coles customer decided to change her shopping routine and claimed to have bought $205.50 worth of groceries for just $3.60.
Anne, from Queensland, visited her local supermarket at 8pm on a Wednesday and shared an image online of the ‘bargain bonanza’ food haul, which included 10c wraps, chopped fruit and milk.
‘Best haul for ages,’ she captioned the social media post.
The following day after visiting Coles again, Anne announced she is permanently changing her shopping schedule to 8pm in order to score further markdowns.

The social media post caused a buzz online among customers who were keen to try shopping at a later hour too for the best discounts.
’10c for the socks! That’s crazy!’ one person wrote, another added: ‘You scored big time.’
Another said: ‘Wow wish I had a Coles near me. They seem to have better markdowns than Woolies.’
