A mum has impressed hundreds online after sharing a ‘genius’ solution to prevent her toddler from staining the new living room couch.
Sharing the convenient idea on Facebook, Aussie mum-of-one Roxi opted to cover each cushion with using a $19 throw blanket from Kmart.
In the comments she added how her grey Nick Scali couch was ‘scotch guarded and protected with accidental stain warrant’, but doesn’t trust her son’s messiness.

‘Need a couch cover idea? We bought a new couch and I am terrified of my 2.5-year-old ruining it with dribble, snot, sticky fingers and food,’ Roxi wrote online and shared a photo.
‘I ended up in Kmart, colour matching the Alaska Throw ($19) and covering each individual cushion with a blanket.
‘You can hardly even tell and now I can remove and wash if they get dirty. I’m so happy!’
To cover each cushion using the throw, Roxi simply tucked it underneath and ensured it was ‘nice and tight’.
‘It’s so good with no grooves or wrinkles,’ she said, and the $19 Kmart product matched the couch colour perfectly.
Other parents online were quick to praise the idea and many wanted to try it themselves.

‘Looks like I’m running off to Kmart soon to do mine! Thanks for the brilliant idea!’ one mum wrote.
Another added: ‘Awesome, thanks for the tip! I have the same colour lounge and 21-month-old.’
‘I’m shook!! Thought it was just the lounge suite, that’s amazing,’ another said.
